Keep ya head up, Ashley Alexandra Dupré!
The NYTimes leaked her MySpace Music profile today. She seems like a chillhead and the fact that her involvement in sex work is about to be at the center of a national scandal is unfortunate. Telling her mom must have been horrible.

Ashley Alexandra Dupré, up and coming NYC r’n'b singer.
The authors of the NYT article quoted her MySpace profile extensively and even took a swipe at her lyrics:
On the Web page is a recording of what she describes as her latest track, “What We Want,” a hip-hop-inflected rhythm-and-blues tune that asks, “Can you handle me, boy?” and uses some dated slang, calling someone her “boo.”
Pretty uncalled for, if you ask me. Who is the NYT to make comment on the status of slanguage after using the phrase “a hip-hop-inflected rhythm-and-blues tune” to describe her track like William F. Buckley Jr. incarnate?
I convinced Ghostdad to play her track on Mofo Radio tonight so you heard it there first folks! I am reasonably sure that Ghostdad is now the first DJ in Boston to play Dupré. Reali-tease! This will be significant someday so I am officially entering it into the public record.
Incidentally, she hasn’t accepted my friend request yet. Oh well, Ashley still my boo.
