Man. I’m literally listen to the Lil’ Wayne album right now that he came out with, “Rebirth.” The first thing I was thinking about is “The Rebirth of Cool.” Personally, I’m a sax player, but I realize that Miles is one of the most influential musicians that came out of this world. The new album reminds me of when Miles started playing with a bunch of white musicians in the ’60s (I believe), He makes a statement, a turn around from the original. Lil’ Wayne gets away from the generic animated beats, has a band behind him, actual MUSIC.

miles clearly understood the connection between ambiance/noise and popular music in a way that we’re just figuring out now. i wonder if he was listening to model 500 and the detroit techno kids back then? imagine him playing on top of “strings of life”!
