Perfect popcorn and the elusive rand int
Last year, Rebecca and I found the perfect popcorn recipe and we’ve been quiet about it for too long. The humor! The love! The dogs!
THANK YOU LARRY!
Could we use the popping of popcorn kernels to generate random integers?

kev, i’m going to let you in on some next-level popcorn shit, which is the cool breeze improved method of production. first, you put vegetable oil in an unheated pan, but like, kind of a lot (but not more than 1/4″ deep). then put in popcorn, enough that when popped it’ll fill the pan, or less than that, or whatever. with your hand, swish the corn around in the oil until every kernal is totally covered in oil. only then do you put the heat on (to medium, or start hi then once things get going turn down). the reason popcorn burns is because different kernals are heating at different rates. by taking a little care to cover every kernal in oil, the kernals have a better chance of popping around the same time. you still need to shake it when you cook it, if that isn’t obvious. give it try. may need some finessing but what doesn’t. james brown’s “popcorn” and gershon kingsley (aka “hot butter”)’s “popcorn”. both huge.

i think that popcorn popping is too deterministic.
you should consider the lava lamp maybe?
